Ratna’s research interests are in the areas of migration, gender and village studies. At BRCG she is the Coordinator of the Institute’s research programme on ‘Inclusive Development in Bihar’, and is presently working on a longitudinal study that examines social and economic changes in rural Bihar in the period, 2005--2011. She has published in the Economic and Political Weekly and the Indian Journal of Labour Economics. She is a co-author of the book, Inclusive Development in Rural Bihar.
